This book is chock full of practical advice about building and growing a freelance business. The author has a fun, light tone but is very down to earth and manages to be inspiring & grounding at the same time.

I love Michelle Goodman's common sense approach to freelancing. It's not rocket science, it does require hardworking, planning and sacrifice (cable. . . Hoe I will miss you.)

A very straight-forward read. Best for someone just starting to take the freelance plunge but there were a lot of good reminders. Also has some great resources re: drafting contracts or handling red-flag clients that I wish I had from the beginning.

Essential read for total freelance newbies wanting to break in like me. This book is both informative (though broadly so--though Goodman is a writer, she attempts to speak to all potential freelance disciplines, which sometimes works here and sometimes doesn't) and fun to read. Don't expect a one-stop-shop--I definitely still have research to do after reading this--but do expect a jump-start course full of interesting quotes and tips from freelancers across disciplines.
