ANTI-TBR AUTHOR.
Allegedly Racist and bigoted language and stories used in her writing for the Hades Hangmen series.

This is the second book from this series that I finally managed to finish. I read the first one, Raze, maybe two years ago and don’t remember loving it, but it was decent enough. I tried to read the second one but I couldn’t get into it, so I managed to give this series one last shot with Ravage. I have to say, this one wasn’t too bad.

Okay, aside from the dark stuff that’s always in Tillie Cole books, I did manage like this. Yes, this is a dark romance so if you typically don’t like those type of books then I strongly suggest avoiding this series. I think I liked Ravage the best from this series because it had an overwhelming feel of Beauty and the Beast to it. A scarred, morally bankrupt monster of a man, who’s under the influence of a serum that takes away free will to serve the evil mistress, is assigned with the task of killing the brother of the beautiful, compassionate woman he falls in love with. Yes, there’s a lot of toxic, unhealthy components to their relationship but Tillie Cole makes it pretty clear that she wants us to know this man has, quite literally, no control of his actions while under the serum.

All in all, I probably rated this a little too generously but this book managed to grab my attention for more than five minutes, which I can’t say for other books I’ve tried to read lately. I managed to finish this in one day, so if that’s any indication, than this may be a gripping read for you.

Method: audiobook

Rating: 5/5 stars

H rating: 5/5 - Valentin..194. Yes, he is a killer and trained and conditioned as one, I do have to say his torture sucked but I can look past it.

h rating: 4.5/5 - Zoya. Her perception of her brother's relationship and her prejudice seemed hypocritical to me. Otherwise I did like her.

Drama: 5/5 - Oh this one has so many different parts..152..mistress..a bit of everything.

Thoughts: Very happy with this book and coupling.

Dark, raw and intense! Boys and girls are stolen in the night to be used for fighting, killing and sex trafficking. This series is not for the faint of heart.

Valentine was stolen from the orphanage with his little sister at the age of 12 and was turned into an assassin for the Mistress who used his sisters captivity to get him to do the things the Mistress wants. Until he kidnaps Zoya. Zoya was able to break through the serum in his system and show him the love that no one has ever given him. Giving him the freedom he did not know how to take back for himself.

I loved Ravage! Tillie Cole did such a good job of taking a monster and turning him back into a man. The love he felt for Zoya and what he would do for her and his sister was felt with every word written.

This is the 3rd book in the series and while it is a standalone, you do have the couples from the first two books continued on in this book. I have not read the first two books but I will definitely be going back and reading them. Valentine's sister is still being held captive and the end of this book hints to the fourth book being about her. I can't wait to find out who will be her warrior that saves her.

This is going to sound like I'm saying I read Playboy for the articles, but I read this book for the plot. I did, really. I like this series, the characters, and the business they run. I want to see them take down the evil guys. So by book 3 of this series I found the love relationship repetitive and actually in the way at times. But the characters are well-developed through the book. I like these people, and the family they're building.
