Incredible. Characters were extremely lovable (or deservedly hateable). The friendship breakup was raw and real. How the tougher topics were handled were well thought out and well paced. It feels so special, and it's shocking that this is her debut.

This would be a great book club pick. The overriding mystery falls short, but it's just a vehicle to talk about privilege, slut shaming, the failings of adults, and the long road to healing. Gives strong Veronica Mars vibes.

Wow wow wow!! This book married romance, thriller, and the painful realities of adolescence so seamlessly, and was somehow simultaneously deeply complex and emotional and fun and fast-paced in the most perfect way. I read the last 200 pages in one day because I couldn't put it down.

Jo is such a force of a main character and the perfect vehicle to deliver both sarcastic banter and powerful reckonings with painful trauma. Her voice will stick with me for a long time. All of the supporting characters were also so thoroughly developed to perfectly fit into their roles not only in the chaotic world of high school but into the Nancy Drew/Veronica Mars-esque mystery with tons of unexpected twists and turns.

A powerful debut from Adamo who will undoubtedly have great success!
