Coben is a master at keeping you hooked and guessing, this book was no different. It was, however, 50% a romance novel or "love story" which was a nice change of pace for me, but I suspect most Coben fans will detest. This was my 6th book and would rank it somewhere in the middle.
Needed a quick escape read and this fit the bill. Writing was a bit bland and trite, but it was a fun little mystery.
This seemed more like the summmary of a movie than a novel to me. The narrative was so thin that I saw paper dolls instead of real people in my mental images.
I'd been reading reviews that this book was as good if not better than "Tell No One". I think the reviews are spot on! This book was amazing. I finished it in a day.

Oh what a book. It had me hooked from the beginning. If I could have I would have read this in one sitting as it was awful having to put it down.
We meet Jake - a professor at a University. He is popular with students and gets on well with most of the other members of staff. One day while waiting for a student to come and see him he sees an obituary on the college web site. This is where the intrigue takes off.
Jake thinks that the man in the obituary is the man that the love of his life married. He is encouraged to go to the funeral by his best friend and colleague Benedict. He does go but the widow is not the lady he was expecting, so what happened to the love of his life (Natalie).
He does a web search when he gets back to discover that Natalie has no on line life and there is no record of her. He sets out to find out what has happened to her and where she is.
The novel follows his search, the people he meets, the involvement of his friends and colleagues - but can they be trusted.
Very well written characters, the story flowed really well, the plot was great and gripping.
Would recommend this to anyone.
