I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end and cannot wait to read the other 2 books of the series. In reading the prologue I felt like I was reading my divorce story...seriously. My name is Kim, my ex is Charlie, and I have 2 boys! It was slightly creepy. I only wish I could have run off to a town like Cedar Key. I honestly feel the story is very well written. I love the glimpses into the past of the characters, and I can seriously relate to the 5 weeks of summer spent without your children after a divorce.

I really liked this book until I got to the ending. It's bad enough to stop in the middle of several stories leaving nothing resolved, but there is nothing on the cover or inside of the book to warn you that this is only the first part of a story. Not well played, at all.

The book swept you away to the beaches and palm trees as well as picturing beautiful sunsets. It also gave you time to pause and think about trying to control everything in your life and letting go and putting your trust in others hands.

I liked this book well enough to devour it in one day. And while I was entertained and interested enough to devour the book, the love story was far too much for me. I bristle greatly with instaLove kind of stuff. And even though there was a past history, the speed for which the love relationship took off did not work for me. I am not a fan at all of "instaLove-lets get married" style of relationships. Most times, that is based on lust, and idealistic relationship wants. With that said, I did I like the characters and their struggles were real and believable. I just wish, on many levels, that the romance aspect went slower and matured into a love relationship instead of moving at the speed of light.

I get that as part of a series, an author doesnt need to give a "true" ending but it would have been nice.
