I am so glad that the author choice to discuss the debilitating effects that PTSD causes when service is over after war. Especially when it causes a person to leave the war earlier than anticipated. I enjoyed Willow and her approach to helping Xander. My biggest gripe was the speed at which the story was told. It felt rushed. Still for a debut book this author did a great job.

Cheese and rice! I totally fell in love with these characters! Harloe does an amazing job at making us connect to X and letting us know just how truly broken he is. I love the relationship between willow and X. They were best friends and in the end they finally found their way to each other. I am a sucker for happy endings! An amazing job for a debut book, and I can not wait to see what Harloe does next!!!
Loved this!!
This was a fantastic book. This was my first book by Harloe! And its wont be my last. I enjoyed the story between Xander and Willow. I felt so bad for Xander and all he had to go thru as a soldier recovering from being the only survivor of an ambush on his unit. And Willow for being so strong and being there for him.

Xander is the whole package even with his damaged pieces. Willow has always loved him and reconnecting the way they did was so emotional and it just felt right for them to rekindle their lives together. His PTSD wasn’t easy and sometimes difficult to overcome but I loved how Willow was able to pull him through. When you sympathize and feel the emotions from the book you are reading you can tell just how powerful the message is. Loved this ♥️

Xander and Willow had been friends forever! They both kept their true feelings hidden from each other. When Xander was leaving after enlisting in the military they still didn't confess their love for each other. Like most young people, they figured they had the future to bring all that up. Xander never wrote to Willow once he was deployed. She did not hear a thing from him until 3 years later when his mom (through her mom) asked for Willow's help to get through to him. He had been through some bad stuff while over seas and was keeping away from everyone, including family and friends. So she goes out there to see what has become of her friend and the man she had always been in love with.
This story is about the journey that Xander and Willow go though to find their way back to each other. The love they have. The struggles they go through to be together. Its a great story with an adorable HEA ending. (Xander may have thought it was corny as all heck, but I thought it was perfect!!!)

Totally without meaning to, I've read the bulk of Harloe Rae's catalogue in a couple of days. This was lackluster in comparison to some of her much stronger works.
