I haven't read Twilight or Sookie Stackhouse or...anything else that is popular and involves vampires. I've no idea what made me download this from Audible--maybe the librarian premise. I loved it. Laughed the whole time.

After reading so many reviews that called this book laugh out loud funny - I was disappointed. It definitely tried really hard to be funny but it seemed forced. It also seemed like much of the background info was borrowed from other series.

2.5 to 3stars from me.
My review here would match a bunch of the 2-3stars reviews already listed below. I didn't know it was a romance novel but i should've figured that out by the cover. so Paranormal-Romance it is.
I agree with several other peoples comments. Jane was very sarcastic that timing had to be done right in order for it to be pulled off nicely. Although, there were moments where i was caught laughing out loud. I found it odd that she worried so much about being jobless than being 'undead'. My assumption for this is because vampires have already started its integration into society that you're basically just a different race. Therefore, your whole life of working up to your career seems more of a drastic change. Honestly I don't buy it, and i felt it would've been a lot funnier if she discovered all her new abilities slowly and threw in her sarcastic remarks during these times.
Anyway, overall, it was an okay read. I haven't decided if i'll chase down the next few books in this series.

This book was funny from beginning to end. Not a "twilight" funny or anything like that but the main female was humorous. She wasn't a Mary sue or Jane (whichever you prefer), she is was a bit shocked about being turned into a vampire but eventually got used to it. Gabriel her 'sire'.. Hm...there aren't words. He's new to being interested into a woman, he hasn't dated in ages. Which is a good thing i think. I can't wait for the next one.

It's entertaining, good humor, decent writing. Not much world building unfortunately and a little bit too much romance and raunchy business for my taste, so 3.5 stars. I'll probably read the next in series too see where it goes.

I absolutely love this series and haven't read a single book by Molly Harper that I didn't love.
If you love this series, try When Life Gives You Vampires by Gloria Duke. The book is amazing, and the tone reminds me so much of this series ❤️
