Read 3 & 4 first. Yes, out of order, don't ask.

This is Alexa and Nick's story, it kind of starts it all. Nick is the brother of Maggie (who will eventually marry Michael Conte. We meet him in this story as one of the major players Nick needs on board to accomplish his dream. Maggie is bffs with Alexa and has always had secret feeling for her older brother Nick.

Alexa needs 150k to save her family's house and Nick needs a wife to get the business he worked hard to build with his uncle. In her heart if hearts she wants a real husband but right now she HAS to save her family. Nick wants a wife in name only one that he can easily leave behind after the year if up.

Naturally they are drawn to one another, but they try to deny it. There is some back and forth between them but eventually love wins out. She was the one for him, the only one…always. It's a sweet story complete with a nice HEA.

I used to love the TV show "Ned and Stacey". It only ran for 2 seasons before it got cancelled. (I was probably the only one who watched it). Anyway, this book reminded me of that show so I picked it up and read it even though I usually don't read "romance" novels.

I liked the book, but felt the characters and their relationship could have been developed a little more.

Not bad; I didn't expect to like it since the beginning wasn't to my taste. The rest of the book made up for it.

The writing was corny and choppy at times, but it was decent and tolerable for the most part. The story was predictable, but there were a lot of laugh-out scenes.

Light-hearted, fun, predictable romance novel. I mistakingly thought it was erotic literature but disappointingly, it's not. It's just a vanilla romance but still enjoyable to read. A little on the dull side but that might just be me since I've made the switch from romance to erotica.

3.5-4 stars. This is just a typical feel good book. Nothing over the top. Nothing spectacular needs to happen. It's just a book you invest your time in and it doesn't disappoint.

This book was okay.

I didn't like Nick very much as he was quick to make assumptions, kept blowing hot and cold, jacked Alexa around and to be honest he was a bit of a dick.

Alexa was better and I quite liked her character. She was nice but she had a backbone which many heroines lack these days.

Gabriella was an added complication that I could have done without. There were quite a few complications in this book that I could have gone without.

The storyline was okay, nothing spectacular and there are better fake relationship books that I've read, such as; [b:Play|19095025|Play (Stage Dive, #2)|Kylie Scott|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1393202794l/19095025._SX50_.jpg|25758268] by Kylie Scott, [b:The Deal|24920901|The Deal (Off-Campus, #1)|Elle Kennedy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1431282052l/24920901._SY75_.jpg|44100599] by Elle Kennedy, [b:Lady Luck|12958487|Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain, #3)|Kristen Ashley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327912930l/12958487._SX50_.jpg|18115826] by Kristen Ashley, [b:The Fill-In Boyfriend|18660447|The Fill-In Boyfriend|Kasie West|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1555964577l/18660447._SX50_.jpg|26479163] by Kasie West, [b:Grayson's Vow|25167898|Grayson's Vow|Mia Sheridan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1441022764l/25167898._SY75_.jpg|44872730] by Mia Sheridan, [b:Wife for Hire|15836911|Wife for Hire (For Hire, #1)|Christine Bell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388708742l/15836911._SX50_.jpg|21575369] by Christine Bell, to name a few. If you like romance sometimes...and you are bored...this is a pretty good and very quick read.
By pretty good, I kind of mean: Meh.
But, it was a nice distraction for a day.

One to re-read because I cannot remember a thing.
The premise sounds like Hapi Mari, one of my favourite mangas, so it could be good?
