Kaufman and Spooner's talent for crafting distinctly different characters, and then managing to weave together all their stories in a tightly-crafted plot, never ceases to amaze me. This time, we follow Sofia, a glib con artist with a brilliant memory, and Gideon, a hacker who's harboring a secret about his connection to one of the other main characters. Their paths soon cross with Flynn and Lee's, as well as Tarver and Lilac's, as they fight to keep their world--or the planets, I guess--safe from LaRoux Industries. We even get the point of view of the whispers, too, in the brief interludes before every chapter. The plot is fast-paced, action-packed, and ultimately, reaches a satisfying end.

I loved this. It was a wonderful way to finish the series. I'll miss the characters and the universe, but it was wonderful.

Surprisingly, the instalment I expected the least from for some reason, became my ultimate favourite from the trilogy! This book made me feel the most from the series, though my number 1 favourite ship is still Lilac and Tarver, followed by Sofia and Gideon.
I loved the setting, the storyline, the two new characters - hacker and a con artist, and how the story from the whole series - and all its characters - came perfectly together in this last book!

I think my favorite thing about this book was seeing how wrong everything can go. The characters were put into hopeless situations and then slowly were able to find answers and pick up the pieces to make their situations better. I don't think we see that very often--how low and hard can things get and how can we make them better.

This last book in the Starbound Trilogy was a mostly satisfying conclusion to the series. The POV characters this time are Avon native turned con artist Sofia, and the infamous hacker known as the Knave of Hearts, Gideon.
The first half of the book was perfectly paced and the story was excellent, as Sofia and Gideon form a reluctant partnership to try to take down LaRoux and put an end to his nefarious plans. The second half brings together all the previous characters from the first two books and proceeds to wrap up all the loose ends. While it did do that, I thought the plotting wasn't quite as tight as it was in the first half. Nevertheless, I did like the fact that everything was dealt with and I enjoyed seeing all the characters together at the last.
Overall I enjoyed the trilogy, and I would recommend reading it all together, as the stories really do interweave nicely and the final resolution is quite satisfying.

I wanted to love this one. I did love parts of it. But sadly it didn't sweep me way the way the first did. Lilac and Tarver were strong as individuals in a way that the other 4 main leads aren't. I miss their stories and would LOVE to see more about them. Lilac's fate in this one for half the book . . . it detracted for me.

Very awesome ending to the series. I loved the plot for this one and getting to see Lilac and Tarver again was great - and I even liked Lee and Flynn more in this book than I did their own. I also really, really liked the resolution with the 'whispers'. I could have given this five stars, and, in fact, kind of thought I was going to, but the constant back and forth between Sofia and Gideon about the romance got really tiring for me. 'I can't trust them; but I love them. I wish I could tell them I understand; but I feel like I can't say anything.' Blerg. The plot was awesome, the romance less awesome.
