I'm a sucker for any Grisham book. Always a quick, interesting read. When I read the cover of this one, it sounded like a fictional version of his non-fiction work, The Innocent Man. In some ways it was similar, but without giving anything away, in many respects it is very different. Grisham somehow always writes a book that shifts my paradigm. His Street Lawyer is the book that made me get involved in volunteer work at our food pantry. The Confession, coupled with his previous death row book, The Chamber as well as his non-fiction The Innocent Man has totally made me rethink the death penalty.

One of Grisham's better books. Takes a look at what happens when an innocent man is killed by death penatly in Texas and how after 6 months nothing in the system changes.

I liked the book but I grew angry over the senseless of the final few pages.

This book started out like the John Grisham novels I fell in love with. Great detail and gripping story line. However, about a third of the way through the book I found myself bored with all the excessive detailing. It was like reading an actual court case.

John Grisham *nailed* the reality of the death penalty, wrongful convictions, human nature, politics, race relations and the interplay of all these things. The reviews complain that the book is essentially a treatise on why the death penalty is bad BUT THE THINGS IN THIS BOOK ACTUALLY HAPPEN ALLLLLLL THE TIME. If you're ok with the way this story unfolded, fine. If it makes you uncomfortable, maybe it's time to reassess.

Very thorough treatment of the pitfalls of the death penalty. Contains any number of reasons that the death penalty should be abolished.

I'm tempted to say I hated this book, but only because it made me so angry. I love John Grisham, and this book is right on par with his other work.

I was sceptical at first when I saw this book in the book store. I used to be a big John Grisham fan and after being disappointed by his last couple of books I stopped reading his titles. I am happy to say that I am a John Grisham fan again! Great read!

Siapa jagoan dalam kisah ini?
Donté Drumm yang tak bersalah?
Robbie Flak sang pengacara galak?
Keith Schroeder pendeta yang lugu lalu jadi visioner?
Atau malah Travis Boyette, penjahat kambuhan yang ingin membebaskan Donté dari hukuman mati yang keliru?

Bersabarlah, baca sampai akhir. Seperti biasa, Grisham membuat kita berpikir sendiri ttg sistem hukum Amerika yang katanya demokratis itu.
