With its subtle humour, enchanting details and witty reflections on film, literature, past relationships, journeys inwards and outwards, Ali Smith's prose is one of the most brilliant modern voice in our times. I liked some of the stories better, some a bit less, but all of them carried hope and light and poetry of everyday life, of different people, different backgrounds. An inspiring read.

These short stories were so lovely - often very short and sweet. One of my fave short story collections and I think her oldest published work.

Not giving a rating for this one as I found it confusing/hard to focus on but it speaks more about my mindset at the moment rather than Ali Smithโ€™s writing.

Nor sure how memorable these will turn out to be? However, the last story, The World with Love, is a good lesson to read ALL stories in a collection. Tenderness and little earnest pangs of heartache.
