What a great anthology of short stories!! I was given the books in exchange for an honest review and am so happy for this opportunity!!
The premise of the book set is when one of their friends passes away, she makes each of them take a trip somewhere in the world and take time away from their career driven lives. Each of these stories is awesome and their lives so realistic.
Empress of Ireland by Jennifer Conner focuses on Laila, a chef, who finds herself in Ireland in a pub, run by the handsome Alasdair. They start with an attraction between them that makes Laila question about staying in Ireland and cooking at the pub or go back to a life that she realizes she no longer loves. While Alasdair is afraid to love after losing everyone close to him in the past.
Island Bride by Danica Winters is about Amy, a divorced wedding planner who travels to New Zealand to oversea her first destination wedding. There she meets Liam, the owner of the hotel she is staying at. After an accident occurs, Amy realizes she wants to be with Liam but does not want to give up her life in Seattle. This book really left me with wanting more written on them as I felt at the moment it left me hanging. (At the end of book 5 I was happy).
Love is In the Air by Sharon Kleve is about Sophie, a bookstore owner, who ends up hiking in Colorado. After meeting her hiking guide, Jonas - a famous photographer, she discovers she is not prepared for the trip but finds herself very attracted to Jonas. They sneak moments together whenever possible but after a change in the weather and small hiking accident forces them together alone, they realize how much they care about each other. One of my favorite lines in the book spoken by Sophie was "I'll take it hot over good any day" - although she was talking about coffee!
Uncharted Love by Joanne Jaytanie is about Ellie who runs a publishing house in Seattle. She ends up on a cruise and has a love/hate relationship with the water. On board the ship she meets Jax, the staff captain and after an on-board issue the two spend lots of time together and find themselves very attracted to each other. Loved the fact that both had bad relationships in their past and they bonded over that!
Chasing Dreams of Love by Kathie & Ed Hayes is about Meg, a children's book writer who ends up in San Francisco, where her daughter lives. She is then set up by her daughter and her daughter's best friend with the best friends dad, Joe, a cop who's family runs a winery. Joe and Meg go on a scavenger hunt together and learn more about each other and find they are made for each other.
I loved the simplicity and realism of the books! They are simple romantic stories and an easy read but so enjoyable!! Absolutely happy with these books!!
