If she called herself a terrible mother one more time...I was going to agree with her!

Short review. 3.5 Well written sweet love story about second chances and not letting a few bad relationships sour you on love. I adored the chemistry between Brock and Erin and how understanding both were to others hesitation into entering into a relationship. The story ends with not a cliffhanger but more like a lead into the next brother's story.

I'm a sucker for a romance involving a good guy who is willing to have a relationship with a woman with a child or children. This book was sweet, heartwarming, and sexy. Although children's health issues were involved, they didn't weigh the book down with sadness. It took a very optimistic, proactive view.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Asthma, the word itself brings fear as this disease can cause so much confusion, pain and difficulties for those with it or those who are related to having this disease.
To involve that into the main foundation of the story is difficult, but the author has done it beautifully. The story is sweet romantic and perfect for the holiday. Not to forget the humor, the emotions and the overthinking thoughts!
This sweet romance is about a single mother whose son is having asthma and Brock, the doctor who has lost his sister to the exact same disease. The doc has also lost his wife two years ago to cancer. They find reassurance with each other and fall in love. The story may be simple but the way its written is rather beautiful and touching. But since the main plot is based on the kid with asthma I had some misgivings about the book.
There is also the factor of money, factor of medical worries and a baggage of past, which is the perfect recipe for a wonderful romance.
But there was an instance that actually made me cringe once in the story, that is how Erin keeps on telling about being a bad mother. I don't think so. I thought she was an amazing mom. I wanted to smack her in the head and say out loud that "lady you are a single mother. Things happen, problems come but so do good times and joy!" But thankfully the doctor does that but in a soft sweet way. That completely made me happy with the book.

Not a bad story by any means, but I found myself needing to stop for whatever reason and not necessarily keen to return. Brock's ex wife plays a major role throughout and though I can see why, I find the use of her rather difficult to cope with because Erin becomes his second choice, not his second chance. I can see how the dead wife can be a difficult character to juggle with.

Sweet, lights and quick read...but ends rather abruptly.

Egads so much lip licking, clearly the woman was in need of a chapstick!
