Shanora Williams writes the most unhinged plots and I love her for it.

Spoiler (I didn't love blaming one characters issues on his mothers mental illness when his father was totally absent too.)

The shaming and humiliation of the wife on top of the graphic details of the rapes were too much for me.

"I'm not worthless. I am someone with a soul and a divine right to be here."

•I definitely enjoyed this one more than "The Perfect Ruin"
•I was on the edge of my seat with the dual timelines. Brynn's story was captivating and Jolene had me so very curious because I just knew she was hiding...A LOT
•I appreciated the different POVs - it tied the story together nicely even though I felt PLAYED but...well done Ms. Williams 👏🏾
•The ending was satisfying - not sure everyone would have a heart like Jolene
