The one where Captain Underpants gets super strength. I read it to my five-year-old and at some point he shouted, "How do they know they're in a book??"

Another clever and inventive tale from Dav Pilkey. Still bothered by the irresponsibility of main characters, Harold and George, but as I'm not the target audience for the book and kids seem to love it based on its popularity and the reviews here, it could just be me.

This is the third book in the Captain Underpants series but you do not need to read the first two to follow the plot since there is a nice explanation of who Captain Underpants is and how he got his powers in the first few pages. Children who already enjoy Captain Underpants will likely love this one as well. The humor is hit-or-miss: some kids will love it and others will loathe it. There isn't a lot of educational value especially since the comic parts have purposefully misspelled words in it. Otherwise, it is a fun series for reluctant readers.

Guys, this was the funniest Captain Underpants yet. Even I was laughing. And the teacher's names!! Miss Creant (miscreant), Mr Meaner (misdemeanor), etc etc. Sooo good!

A challenged/banned series that children really enjoy. Yes, the series has some mild violence, misbehavior, and disrespect towards elders, yet children, especially boys, really enjoy these books. This particular book is about the two main characters getting in trouble for tricking the cafeteria ladies into cooking cupcakes for the principal and giving them a recipe with baking soda and vinegar and as you can imagine, things get messy! When the cafeteria ladies quit, aliens swoop in and use the opportunity to take over and it's up to the boys, and Captain Underpants, to save the world.
