Great book o finish the series: it brings it all to the needed and expected end. However, it feels quite dated as Asmiov portrays a sexually frustrated Gladia and has some weird ideas about consent . Historically, a great book and worth a read; just a bit uncomfortable at times.

I was shocked by the end as I truly didn't expect it. As usual Asimov is addictive and I can't stop reading his books until I finish them.
This book was particularly interesting because it reflects, more than previous books, on the concept of tradition and human nature.
The idea that we humans can become acquainted with the idea of living without human contact or without the notion of family relationships seems quite interesting. How the author explores this new "ways of living" of both the Spatials and the Terrestrian from the point of view of Baley is captivating and reflects the possible futures of our world, with its advantages and disadvantages.
The only thing I didn't quite understand was the sexual intercourse between Elijah and Gladia. I felt like it was out of context for Asimov's style of writing and the topics he usually writes about.

So this was my least favorite Asimov book so far, yet I think it's interesting. I still liked the idea of making robots as complex as humans, and not just a copy of humans or a one-dimensional robotic character. The sex scenes took me aback a little bit because I was not expecting it from Asimov, but I thought it was interesting also. I think robots are still a complex and deep idea that I want to keep exploring in his books.

Asimov in his "it's not the fifties anymore so a novel should be at 300 page minimum — let's crank those pages! — and also I have no ideas left so let's just indulge in hollow continuity building" era.

Got a bit long and didn't move as quickly as his other books, but still good.

Too dry even for me 😫 asimov is at his best at 300 pages or less. Maybe ill try again at some point.
