I really loved listening to how Marley and Carter were able to be together and their cute love story. Made me happy to know her side that she was okay.

This was by far my favorite book of the Selection series. I love coming back to this novella sometimes. It was cute and swoony and it made me realize that Marlee really should have been the protagonist of the Selection series.

I mean, come on, a girl who enters a competition for a prince, but falls in love with a guard instead? It could have been about the pressure of being the people's favorite and keeping up a facade when all you want to do is run into the arms of the one you can't have. That's way better than a girl running between two guys the whole series.

I only wish that we got to see the exact moment they got caught. What they're thoughts were. When they snuck away. And I still don't believe the whole hidden and plain sight when Marlee's face was so prominent. Couldn't they send their life together as Eights? It would be a better end to a sweet love story. A little cliche but it's makes more sense.

But besides that, I liked what we got and I loved how they wanted to take each other's pain and not see the other suffer. This novella is definitely a recommend and perfect read for romance lovers.

It spoils The One, so you probably wouldn't want to read it until you finished reading The One.

This book was all over the place with flashbacks and flashfowards. It was really nice to see what became of Marlee and Carter. I was very sad that they were punished for simply loving each other.

I'm glad that Maxon is such a good King. I really hope that he will continue to be.

Marlee and Carter were really sweet together. I didn't really like how the seemed to fall in love so quickly but I guess that does happen. I still hate the previous King! -.- He is ten kinds of swear words.

Edit:

I forgot that you see the ending of the series in this book. I think this is more accurately a 3.1 as it has info from the third book that if you hadn't already read it like I have then it would spoil it for you.

I loved seeing how Marlee and Carter fell in love. I still think it was fast but it was really sweet.

I also love how kind Maxon is. He went so far out of his way to help them when they had kind of betrayed him that it just makes him an even better person than I already thought he was.

I was really sad that they had to be caned. I wish they didn't have to.

I was really happy when their punishment was lifted. I'm happy that Marlee now gets to be with America every day.

It was interesting to see what Carter was like considering we didn't really know his personality much before this. :)

The little story was fine, but this novella is book 3.5 like in the title not 2.6 as Goodreads has it labelled in the series and I read it before The One and I’m a little annoyed about it because obviously there are some spoilers. Oh well. Very short story, will take about an hour to read.

I like Marlee. It was interesting to see her perspective on what happened, but it was also completely unnecessary and didn't add anything to the storyline of the series. It was lucky it was short; otherwise, it would have probably felt a bit like a waste of time. Still alright, though.
