This was awful. I would have DNF'd but I used this for a reading challenge prompt. What a horrible waste of words.

It was cool, but nothing special in my opinion. I got 50% in before I found out there was infidelity (I hate infidelity in books) but I pushed through. It wasn't too bad in context, but it still pissed me off a little. I always love Stephen King's writing and characters, but I didn't care about the characters in this.

It was a short easy read. My first Stephen King book I’ve read so far.!

I must admit I found the ending quite abrupt and felt it was lacking. It left me feeling quite disappointed because it was such a build up for nothing.

I did find the concept of the story very interesting with the sense of the unknown. I feel that there was not enough time to enjoy the characters or build a connection to any of them.

I’ll definitely give a different Stephen King Book a try!

A tense and thrilling tale. Love the ambiguous ending. Interesting to identify similarities in the main concept of Stranger Things.

Just a really, really great book. This is my first ever Stephen King novel, and I understand now why he’s been so successful with his stories. His imagery is just fantastic, simple yet evocative, and the way he threads events together makes you want to keep going.

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the narrator upon first listen, but his voice quickly grew on me. He has a great diversity of voices for the characters, even when the differences are a bit more subtle.

I watched the movie several years back, and while I enjoyed it, I think I ended up liking the book better. That’s always how it goes, isn’t it?

Now that I have a taste of what King is like, I’m really excited to start looking into his other works. Time to start expanding my TBR…

Does Stephen King ever not set a book in Maine?

Good quick read, though I wouldn’t say I liked this more than The Long Walk. I sort of have a bigger appreciation for it now.

didn’t like it. i wish king fleshed out the electrical wires thing more. it showed up so much in the beginning only to be half-assedly mentioned once later on. HATED the unnecessary sexuality. how many times does this dude have to mention his massive erection?
