The best and most worthwhile book I’ll ever read. I am always reading this, but doing it in 90 days was an experience I will treasure. Thankful to have eyes to behold the greatest story ever told and for the hope offered in this book

Reading this chapter by chapter took me four years, and led me to the conclusion that, as the old puritan writers used to say, the dust of this book is gold.

Best book ever written! It’s a living and breathing text! A must read for all even if it’s only once

I read this on the YouVersion Bible App. Having it with me and available and divided into a wisdom books and selections from the Old and New Testaments for me helped me pace. In the past, I get engrossed with physical copies, read ahead, then get behind on other sections. This helped me stay on task—not to study it or delve or dissect, just to read it through. Having multiple versions at my disposal and a daily devotional guide answered some questions along the way, though some days, I simply read.

Being able to make notes and bookmarks was delightful to me to help me meditate on new verses to me or things that stood out. I really wish for an ability to review those more easily, but apparently copyright issues with versions prevent ease of printing. There would be no way to go back and scroll through a year’s worth of images in any manageable way now for keeping or review of things I’d like to go back to.

But, any time in the Word is good time, and it’s taken me many attempts, but I feel like I’ve run a year long marathon through many physical and emotional challenges, but I still did it. And isn’t that the idea? To keep going. Just keep walking strong. This year, I need to make up for some lost time on some other disciplines. Not sure if I can do it another year in a row or not. I’ll sure miss it if not, but I also love word studies and topical studies. Still praying on that.

Can't rate this well at all as the new testament seemed to not want to kill off the main character and brought him immediately back to life

AMAZING! Of course I've read the Bible several times through, but this was my first time reading the ESV. I think I have a new favorite version! I love the direct simplicity of the translation.
