"Seeing Landscapes" is a good book to flip through to glean compositional ideas from. Waite's style incorporates and illustrates a mastery of color, framing, lighting, and most of all, patience.
For those who aren't interested in reading long discussions about technical aspects, this is for you. In the place of text, each page has a full color landscape photo with a paragraph describing why he took it a certain way to evoke a certain mood or to arrive at the most aesthetically pleasing composition. He also includes his exposure, film speed, and chosen filters so you can emulate him. Pretty well done! (September 2008)
