I won The Consulting Gigfrom a Goodreads giveaway! This book spent 3/4 of it trying to decide if it was going to be character driven or plot driven and only partially succeeded on both counts. It wasn’t a bad book, in fact, I appreciated the story, but I wish it had chosen to be either plot driven or character driven. I didn’t start to really enjoy the book and characters until the last 1/4 of the book.

With the plot as it was, the contract with all the strict stipulations on conduct and the stern, bossy leading man, it was like a mellow, middle aged version of 50 shades without the explicit sex. And better writing.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. Thank you, goodreads!

This is your typical fake-dating story, but it was fun to read. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jack and Andie. The sexual tension between them was just enough to be believable. It was fun to read about the travel and parties of the rich, and I especially liked hearing the descriptions of all the outfits Andie wore to the events she attended with Jack. I really liked the inner dialogue in italics; it was fun to know what they were each thinking. Overall, this was highly enjoyable, lighthearted chick-lit.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed reading about mature characters who seemed to have everything in their lives, but found they wanted love after all.

I won this as a goodreads giveaway.

This book was a slow burn. It started out really slow but OMG that ending had me grinning like a loon. The story was very well written and was great at making you anticipate what Jack was going to do next in his 'deal'.

The characters were so well-developed even the supporting characters kept you invested. The other thing I really enjoyed about this book was that it was a love story about an older couple who are widowed. They already have their kids and have accomplished their dreams. They are just looking for enjoyment in life with someone they enjoy being with. The great wit and wisdom in the book was good to for a millennial like me. The wit made it absolutely humorous in places. I definitely had a big smile on my face for most of this book.

At first, I wasn't sure if this plot was going to work (and keep my interest). I initially thought that I had misread the synopsis when I discovered that the "consulting gig" wasn't a typical employment scenario. The fact that it actually worked was really refreshing! Once I got into this book, I really enjoyed it. I thought the second-chance romance for such an unlikely couple was really cute. The inner dialogue was a fun addition to the storytelling and I appreciated the love story of a more mature couple.

I won a free copy of this book via a Goodreads giveaway, so thank you!

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

This book is great for the 30+ crowd, as the characters are more mature and later in life, past having kids, etc. It is a beautiful, clean romance with some humor. I had this book on my want to read for awhile, so winning it had me reading it right away. I truly loved the characters and the how things started so stiff and professional, but slowly things changed. Andie and Jack will suck you into two very different worlds and show you that even after a heartbreak as hard as they both had, you can find love again.
