Another underwhelming delivery by M.J. Arlidge. I have one more book in the series and I hope that one will be better, when I eventually get around to it.

In "the Doll's House" DI Helen Grace is faced with an abductor who keeps his victims' families believing they are still alive with tweets and messages. The girls he takes all have black hair, blue eyes and the tattoo of a bluebird on their shoulders. Helen's boss is less than pleased by all the attention her employee is receiving and is doing little to ease the investigation.

Helen was a little more appealing in this book than in "Pop goes the weasel", but she is still quite aloof and not my cup of tea. Not that I wanted her trapped by her boss from hell, of course. The killer's motive was poorly explained and the ending came abruptly. All in all, this is a passable crime novel, but the series has little to distinguish it from all the rest in this genre.

I love this series. It’s like coming home. I know what I’m gonna get and it’s always good. Short, snappy chapters work so well with these stories. I’m on to the next, Liar Liar -x

Another gripping thriller in the series! I had to find my love of reading again and this has done it. Excited for the next

There were a few spelling errors and words in the wrong place but other than that it was pretty good. The chapters are really short to draw you in and make you read in advert breaks, and the pace is breakneck. I’ve already read the 4th book when I didn’t know there was a series and I’ve bought 5 so I can keep it going.

This is the third in the series and I am so hooked on this series! Having read a few of these books now, I am so invested in DI Helen Grace and the other characters as their story develops

this is the third book in the Helen Grace series, and with each book you learn a little more about her and her collegues. The chapters are a little too short and I usually enjoy short chapters, but these are a little too short, I don¨t feel I got into the story.
The story itself is good with the abduction of a young woman from the very start, it gets you going and wanting to read more, but the idea itself isn´t exactly new or different. This isn´t as fast paced as the previous two books, see my reviews for Eeny Meeny and Pop Goes the Weasel. I didn´t think was enough detail on the bad guy, but it wasn´t much of a guessing games as to who did it. I will definitely be looking out for more of the Helen Grace series, but this wasn´t one of the authors best.
