This has always been one of my favorites, probably because of the humor. Light fluffy reading.

Jude Deveraux is an author I first read many years ago and while some of her books definitely do not age well I do think the Montgomery/Taggert saga books do continue to be basically enjoyable to read. I have always enjoyed the interactions her characters have had and the places she sets the story. The plot can be a bit thin but overall I think it's a good beach read.

I read this book many years ago when I was in middle school, and enjoyed it very much it stuck with me. Last year I was discussing romance books that I really enjoyed and spent month trying to remember what this one was called and who wrote it..but I found it at last and re-read it. I enjoyed it just the same again.

I loved both characters wh owere fun, smart and both likeable, and the storyline was not the typical fare...which I always enjoy. I like when writers breakup the flow a bit and try something just a tad different. But this was a fun read and made me giggle in enjoyment on many ocassion. One of my favorite romances I read when young that held up with time.

I'm partial to time travel romance novels which is what got me started reading Jude Deveraux' books. I'm not too keen on contemporary romance. This book was in between. There was no time-traveling, but it did take place in the 1940's. When they went to the Princess' country, they could have been time-traveling because it was way out of date. I really like Deveraux' characters - the Montgomery-Taggert family. They are always so strong-willed, intelligent and they always figure things out. In this novel, J.T. Montgomery figured out how to save a backward country. It was entertaining. It ended as expected, but if a romance novel doesn't end as expected, why read it?

Eh, it was alright. It is definitely a book you don't have to think about too hard. Both characters really annoyed me at times. Aria is raised to be a princess, and JT can't understand that so he is horrible to her. I thought this book was a little behind-the-times during some parts. Like when he tries to "teach her to be American" he tells her that American wives dote on their husband's every wish and desire. I didn't like JT at the beginning. He didn't seem to want to understand Aria's side of things. The ending was ok, not great, but it's a romance novel so there is a happy ending.

It had all the ingredients but for some reason the story felt a bit flat to me. I also felt the hero came over as a bit of a jerk. particularly when they were in the US. I couldn't understand why he behaved like he did. The author did a better job of explaining the heroine's life and motivations. I could understand her.

I didn't like the ending, it seemed to me the heroine had done all that work for her country, given up so much only to end up outranked by her husband because the poor backward country couldn't do anything for themselves without the big strong americans. They could have employed experts from other countries, to help them develop - it's not like the guy was even a wine expert.

He leido peores.
