Beautiful and evocative. I love the way Ernaux captured the spirit of living in France throughout the years, together with her changing perspective as she aged. I appreciated Svetlana Alexievich's work for the same reason, and I wish there were books like this for every place and every era.
Moderate: Sexism
Minor: Abortion
