A welcome addition to American and African American history picture books. The illustrations are bright and colorful. A bit didactic but a nice introduction to this important historical event.

I got this book for free from a teachers' meeting and read it to my students today. The graphics were amazing and the information in the back of the book was great and needed!

However, my students were confused why they were marching so we had to do a lot of pre-teaching to read this book. The story never came out and said why they were marching, only how the march made the main character feel.
