Trigger warning: this book shouldn’t be read by anyone that has difficulty with child abuse/endangerment/infanticide

**The Nestlings by Nat Cassidy - A Haunting and Unforgettable Journey**

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cassidy's *The Nestlings* is a gripping and atmospheric novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The story delves deep into the psychological terror of a young family as they move into a new home, only to find that something sinister lurks within its walls. Cassidy masterfully builds suspense, with every chapter pulling you further into a world where the line between reality and nightmare blurs.

The characters are well-developed, particularly the protagonist, whose descent into fear and paranoia is portrayed with chilling authenticity. The writing is evocative, bringing the eerie setting to life and making you feel every creak and shadow in the house. While the plot occasionally veers into familiar horror tropes, Cassidy's unique voice and fresh perspective keep the story engaging and unsettling.

Overall, *The Nestlings* is a must-read for fans of psychological horror. It’s a novel that will linger in your mind long after you’ve turned the last page. My only minor critique is that the pacing slows in a few places, but the overall experience is still thoroughly satisfying. Highly recommended for those who love a good scare with a strong emotional core.

Blew through this book in a few hours. Story is gripping, and twists in ways that I didn't predict but made sense.

I think I will read ANYTHING Nat Cassidy publishes.

While this book wasn't as perfect and life altering as Mary, it was another masterpiece.

Nat Cassidy has a way of writing female characters with such understanding it is so puzzling that the prose come  from a man. Ana is broken and pessimistic and she reads like a real woman.
Her husband doesn't come in and save her. She is able to save herself.

I don't love vampires and had I known, I might not have picked up this book. I would have missed out. I never knew I needed a Jewish take on vampire lore.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Nat Cassidy's next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact, it is one of the books that, although a movie would never do it complete justice, I would love to see developed into something for the big or small screen. The authors way of writing made you feel like you were there and feeling all of the things that the main character Ana was going through, and although it might be trite to say, the city was such a part of the story that it was like it was a character itself. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Jewish stories about NYC and horror.
