It would be 5 stars except that I hated the portrayal of the Parshmen/Parshendi (a group of dark-skinned people who are categorized as non-human and subjugated to chattel slavery). I think Sanderson was incredibly careless with his narrative here. I understand what he thinks he did with the narrative, but in my opinion he failed. It is extremely harmful and Sanderson def should’ve done better/done more research (or just not included this??). I really hope Book 2 addresses this better.
