Not the biggest fan of the writing style (present tense and overtelling) but i breezed through the book and loved how the setting was a character. Learned a lot.

I don’t read a lot of omniscient third person books but I think it worked here. Great characters and relationships/dynamics, strong sense of time and place, and interesting mystery. Serious subject matter, but the characters still had a sense of humour which helped prevent it from feeling too dreary!
