zinnia101's review against another edition

I really enjoyed this book! It had some really insightful thoughts on women in society and in politics. She also had an amazing collection of people that she interviewed with a lot of perspectives and different backgrounds. My favorite thing about this book was how it made me feel strong and motivated. It was very long (and the cover certainly didn't draw me in) but I'm glad I chose to read this book. It got me thinking, asking questions, and was also pretty comforting after the disastrous 2016 election. The people in the book were so hardworking and optimistic that it gives me hope for 2020 (the 100 year anniversary of women's right to vote in the US!). I feel better informed and more supportive of women in politics now. Some nit-picky things are that some statistics and phrases were overused, it didn't mention religious obstacles in our culture that prevent women from taking leadership, and it didn't have a comprehensive resource list! Many women mentioned great organizations and books but that information is scattered.
