I enjoyed the audio and the story continues to build towards a climax, I only hope all the favourites come out unharmed !

ngl, cannot wait for patrick here to stop being a maverick wizard cop, 100% more interested in his fucked-up family life than whatever case

The events of this book were bound the happen, and it feels quite nice actually to have a lot of stuff out in the open. I hadn't read the synopsis when I started reading this book, so the "framed for murder" plotline was a pleasant surprise since it shook things up for the characters in a fresh way. I did get a bit frustrated that people who are ultimately on the same side as Patrick keeps getting in his way as he tries to literally save the world and their asses because they can't be trusted with the information that Patrick has.

I still have issues with how the gods get randomly inserted in the plot, but I can't help but enjoy the large cast of characters in the series. I'm looking forward to reading the last book. Hopefully, Patrick will get that well-deserved vacation in Maui he's been dreaming about for so long.

After the last book, which gave me quite a shock with its zombies, this one was again one I greatly enjoyed. I still felt overwhelmed at times with all the new characters who appear but the story itself is engaging and heart-wrenching. But seeing the pack together, giving each other support is the best. I love the heroes and their pack and friends. They are truly awesome!

Phew. That was exhausting. This series is definitely not short on action and mythology. The action scenes are nicely choreographed, and the settings are beautifully described. From wedding clothes fittings to challenge rings, the scenes flowed well.

The cast of characters is wonderful. I would like to get to know Patrick a little better though. He is mostly a conduit for the story. The reader gets a little more insight into his character in this book, but it still feels like he is emotionally distant from the reader which I suppose is a perfect analogy for Patrick's existence overall.

The narration was spectacular. I am impressed with Furlong's ability to navigate some challenging names. He also does a great job of adding emotion to the story.

This volume tied up quite a few plot threads, but I still can't wait for the next one.
