This is the second book in the series Sanctuary Sound. This one is from Claire’s point of view. I am loving how each story is from a different characters point of view. It perfectly puts the story all together.

Claire is a designer who is recovering still from an accident awhile back. Claire is trying to get her life back together after get a bullet to her hip and loosing her bf to her best friend. Claire never leaves the comfort of her town and the life she has. That is until Logan comes along.

Claire has had a crush on Logan all her life. Logan returns good to help take care of his sister. While in town Logan offers Claire a job of remodeling is condo in New York. Claire has a fear of traveling. Can Logan help Claire get over all her fears and take on this job?

I can’t get over how much I love these characters and this series. It keeps getting better and better with each book. I just loved this one so much. I loved getting to know more about Claire’s character. I highly suggest this series!

I received a free copy of ‘The Promise of Us’ in exchange for a fair review. This was my first experience with the author’s writing, but not with the contemporary genre. It was fairly easy to jump into this book, despite the fact that it picks up where ‘The Memory of You’ left off. It was easy enough to piece together the characters backgrounds.
I found Claire to be a relatively interesting character, though a bit on the boring side for a main character. The plot was relatively interesting, and I found Logan to be charming. While the book was enjoyable on a basic level, it wasn’t anything earth shattering, either. It read a bit like a Hallmark movie, which I did enjoy. But for a contemporary (adult) romance, the characters weren’t very deep and often came across as emotionally immature.
Overall it was a good read - great for those who like a straightforward, laidback romance. I just was left wishing that the characters were a little more mature and a little less cliche.

This story is about facing your fears, finding yourself, and the changing relationships in your life. This is a sweet romance story where the characters show a lot of growth. They’re really just trying to figure out who they are in the world. Claire is so strong, but also caged by her fears. She’s trying to navigate her friendship, or lack there of with Payton, and her attraction to Payton's brother Logan. Logan is super caring and has the best intentions but you know what they say, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Logan seems way more put together, but he’s also trying to figure out himself throughout the story. It's like both characters don't even realize they need change to be happy. Overall, this was an easy and entertaining read!

Thanks to Montlake Romance and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I liked this book but man was Logan a jerk- he’s intrusive, manipulative (I don’t care it is a bad thing)and insensitive. I think Claire’s feelings about Peyton were perfectly justified and it annoyed me so much when Logan wouldn’t even consider Claire’s perspective when it came to his sister. Peyton’s past behaviour was too easily excused due to her present circumstances.

Regardless of the above I rated this highly as I liked Claire, the small town setting, the interior design aspect and that Claire/Logan had honest upfront conversations about their relationship and ultimately I wanted them to be together (even though she deserves better)

Basically your enjoyment of this book depends on how much you can stand Logan.

Second in the Sanctuary Sound Series. The author does a wonderful job transitioning from Book 1 to Book 2 with informing the read of what happened previously. You do not need to read the first book to enjoy this one, but why wouldn’t you?!

This Series follows three bffs from childhood (Steffi, Claire, Peyton) later in their lives. This book is Claire’s time to find love. Living with an crippling injury from a traumatic shooting, has left Claire and her family with PTSD. She shuts herself off from others and the outside world, until her old crush, Logan, comes back to her town to help his sister, Peyton who is dealing with a health crisis. Claire and Peyton have their own issues that need to be resolved.

Ms. Beck did a great job showing how one persons horrific event alters those around her. When our loved one suffers, we all suffer and try to overcompensate for them. PTSD is crippling and debilitating and the author does a wonderful job shedding light on this situation.

Ms. Beck gives us a teaser of the third book, which will focus Peyton. I look forward to reading this one (although I must admit I was hoping for a different love interest), but I can’t wait to see where it will go.

Thanks to Ms. Beck, Montlake Romance and NetGalley for this ARC. Opinion is my own.
