Family bonds, honor, pride and duty that slowly eats away the main protagonist and those around him is portrayed in such vivid yet dark and disturbing imagery it is absolutely mervelous while simultaneously nauseating.

I cannot believe this series is as underrated as it is. The characters are so well written and fleshed out. Charles-Henri Sanson has quickly become one of my favorite protagonists in manga and it is so amazing to see his character improve this drastically in such a short amount of time.
