This was such a sweet, adorably innocent fox tale meant to explain the importance of leaves to the animals during one of the most dramatic season changes.

And incredibly sweet book.

Maybe a little long for storytime, but ridiculously sweet.

Too long/complicated for storytime but I love it! The art is lovely and it's so cute to see Fletcher misunderstand what fall is and what is happening to his favorite tree. So sweet.

Such a sweet story, and creative too. Fletcher is a little fox who is worried about his favorite tree. The tree is losing leaves and looks all brown and crunchy! He has to find a way to help the tree!
I love the kind and gentle heart of Fletcher and how much he cares for his favorite tree. It’s good for all of us to remember to care for nature. It’s also very charming to see the novelty of experiencing a season for the first time and not being quite sure what’s up. The ending was a nice little surprise and made the book just a bit magical. Even though I loved the story, I loved the illustrations even more. The watercolors and painting truly capture the beauty of the fall season.

an adorable fall story; i want to get all of the fletcher books now!!

I was oohing and ahhing all through this book.

I adore the pastel created illustrations; they’re the kind I can see in my mind and would love to be able to create, but can’t get down on paper the way I’d like. They’re beautiful and worth 5 stars all by themselves. The last picture is visually stunning but all the pictures are just as beautiful in their own way.

The story is very sweet. I love Fletcher. What a great character! Fletcher’s attempt to help his tree as it loses its leaves is touching and funny and just so sweet. I sort of like how the story covers late autumn and early winter only; a part of me wanted more but I think the author made the correct choice of what time period to cover.

I love the messages kids will take from this book. It’s about friendship and about accepting and coming to understand change.

This is a wonderful book and it’s gift worthy as well.

The illustrations are why I liked this book so much! They are beautiful. I really expected the story to end with Spring, though, when the leaves came back. Ending in winter was an interesting choice, but it left me feeling like the story was incomplete.

Adorable story, even with it's simple art. Fletcher learns about fall and that sometimes, change is natural and okay. The ending is superb (hint: glitter!).
