Konrad is a soldier in Malaysia and Singapore during its occupation and his recounts of the people there is incredibly foul. He compares them to devils and does not recognise them as human. He also states that any European person who live in the 'tropics' become deseased, they go through a psychological change that he believes actively kills a Europeans mind. I couldn't read about his recounts and discriptions of my people and the land I'm from.
