A look at female friendship in the 1960s and 70s between two women from very different upbringings, and an attempt at reconciliation ten years after a dark night led to ending their friendship. I enjoyed the dual timeline and the musical references from those years. Was a little slow at times and the characters could have been fleshed out a little more.
Graphic: Death, Sexual assault, Blood, Vomit, Grief, Murder, Toxic friendship, Abandonment, Alcohol, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Infertility, Infidelity, Miscarriage, Death of parent, and Pregnancy

As a starter, this was not my style of writing. The period references were too much on the nose for me, and just too many.
I did like the mystery and Thea’s character development and the friendship, even if I didn’t like the characters themselves and I also didn’t care much for them.
The feminist narrative didn’t really feel authentic and too much of a projection on the characters. Even though the reference to Gloria Steinem gave it some weight, I didnt believe it and still cheered it on.
