Plot, what plot? This book moved so fast I got whiplash from the characters decisions.

It was okay. The first book is really short and is really to set the scene for what I am assuming will be additional books. It was cringy at times but that could just be because Merrick knew next to nothing about the human world.

I thought this idea for the sirens and mermen had great promise. I think the book overall went too fast and there was a lot of plot holes that could have been improved on.

I really liked having a “thicker gal” as a FMC, but I do agree that there is some shaming of smaller women which I found weird.

This one ends on a cliffhanger and sets it up well for the second book. I do think that this book had a lot of potential but I wish there was a bit more character development and more romance.

I was hit with so many feelings while reading this - laughter, wonder, joy, horror and worry are just a few.

I love the hints of the Little Mermaid and the play on her story.

It was amazing to read from the MMC pov as he learns about things that we take for granted. The way things are described (such as hand gestures) it is easy to see how different cultures could be confusing and a little funny for those of us that understand the meanings/ use.

The pacing of the story is really good, it doesn’t linger/ over describe where you are itching for it to move along.

I’m really looking forward to book 2 and how this moves to a why-choose story.

I went into this book not expecting a lot and I was delivered what my expectation was: a slightly raunchy, kinda poorly edited & written ravenous mermen story about a girl who is the last remaining siren. Yes Jesse is fat, but it was made a bigger part of the storyline than I would have liked to have seen. Also, Merrick was cute and I love how despite them having some education, the sirens are clueless to the human world.

I was expecting a little more spice being a why choose trope book but I loved it regardless! It was a slow burn retelling of the little mermaid in my opinion! I can not wait until the second  book comes out! Definitely left me know a cliff!

4.5⭐️🌶 A new, interesting take on life under water.  The author pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you there.

It is a kind of role reversal, whereas the MMC is learning new things, and the FMC is the one teaching. It's a very good read. And it landed on a cliffhanger. I had to do a double take to confirm that the author did me dirty like that.

A great read. Some third base steam. Makes you want more. But don’t fret, a second book is coming.
