My hometown... Students I taught quoted in the book. Horror beyond belief. Wounds that still fester today. I lived the news stories and reread them again this weekend, 26 years later. This true story will scare the hell out of you.

I would give this book a 4.5 if Goodreads allowed half ratings. It was very well written and very thorough while still being very respectful of Shanda’s family and her memory. This case was horrifying and so sad.

A well-written story about a senseless, heartbreaking true crime.
