I love his writing style...ironic without even a little bit of self-censoring. This one isn't nearly as uncomfortable to read as Running with Scissors (which I really loved) A collection of short stories...I particularly enjoy the stories about Dennis. There's a sweetness and tenderness in them that isn't evident in any of the rest - nice to see that side of him among the rest of the stories.

Great book, but explicit. Don't read if you are averse to uncomfortable honesty.

Sedarisesque. Enjoyable.

I only read it because it was part of a book club; I don't know if it's worth a reread. It is a David Sedaris-style coming-of-age story about another white gay man working in advertising. Humor is dry and ableist.

Memoirs of Burroughs rough childhood and his dealing with it as an adult. My favorite exerpts were about his stint in the advertising business. Better than I expected. Much more rich subject matter than David Sedaris and just as funny. I see why so many people relate to Burroughs' writings. Burroughs seems to have a good handle on his intentions for writing and where he wants it to take him.

This was an entertaining read. There were parts that were quite funny. It was a series of short stories of his life. He talks about dating, jobs, love, a bit about his family and wishing he had a normal loving mother.
