An allegorical tale of Greta Thunberg's activism and how she's inspired others to stand up to demand change. The use of talking animals and literal giants helps make this engaging for young children while sticking to its message of environmentalism.
Though the characters are small compared to the giants, when they come together they are heard, they demand change and work toward solutions. A great message for young readers. The book advises against greed and ignorance, providing a hopeful message of changing one's ways and working together.
Lovely illustrations. Persico brings a sense of magic to the natural settings and animal characters of the story. I really enjoyed her art style. Also loved the use of color and variety of emotions shown.
Because this is a story meant for young children, it ends happily and simplifies much of the struggle against the companies/giants that contribute to climate change. In the backmatter, the author notes that in the real world the fight is still ongoing. There is a short list of suggested ways children and their families can help such as learning more about climate change, writing to elected officials, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. There is also a little information included about the real Greta Thunberg.
A nice well-rounded book that serves as a way to inspire and educate. It provides hope and beauty with its message of making lasting change.

This was fantastic! I enjoy reading children’s books that carry important messages, and Greta and the Giants hit a sweet spot with me. As someone who focuses a lot on environmentalism, I thought this short book did a great job at presenting both Greta’s story and the importance of activism. Through the giants story analogy, kids can understand why fighting climate change is such an important issue.
The illustrations are also fantastic. This is definitely a book one should buy for their children along with Malala’s Magic Pencil which I am yet to read. I also really appreciated how at the end of the book there are objective tips one can follow to reduce their impact. Overall an important enjoyable book I recommend.
Final Score: 75/100

Much has been said about Greta and climate change, and this is undoubtedly a book that makes known to children in a light and simplified way what has been going on.
Highly recommend!

Greta and the Giants is about Greta Thunberg. It is modified into a children's story - humans contributing to pollution and environmental damage are made into giants who threaten the woodland creatures' homes and way of life. At first, they are unaware of the problems they are causing, but the animals and a little girl from the woods begin to stand up and make their voices heard. With the fires, natural disasters, and environmental issues our world is facing due to our inaction toward climate change, it is more important now than it has ever been to teach our children how to be responsible for their planet.
There is a section at the back that explains what Greta is doing and how children can help her in real life! My favorite part of this book is that it is printed on recycled paper and that they donate 3% of the price to 350.org, an organization focused on sustainability and climate change. The creator is really practicing what they preach!
Please note, I received a free ARC in exchange for a review. The review contains my honest, uninfluenced opinion and I was not compensated in any way for a positive review.

"No one is too small to make a difference."
This is an inspiring picture book with great illustrations and a great message for everyone. It uses allegory to make the important topic of Climate change accessible to young children and it does it very well.
A section at the back explains that, in reality, the fight against the “giants” isn’t over and explains how you can help Greta in her fight.
Highly recommend it !

This is a cute children’s picture book based on the story of Greta Thunberg and her mobilization of other youth to create a call to action to acknowledge and act on the climate change crisis. I liked the illustrations. My only issue is that sometimes the text of the book didn’t stand out well from the drawings.

Illustrations : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The message however ,⭐⭐
was heavy handed and not the best. Though I agree talking is a start , it's definitely not how things are resolved.
I found the content to be dumbed down and "child friendly" , but I think children are more intelligent than that.
The author's note does mention that things IRL aren't that easy.
But idk..
