I love this series!!!
I started reading the manga before the novel came out, and it hooked me since the first chapter. It's a compelling story where a high schooler gets transported to another world where magic and demons exist. I love isekai genre and story.
Hajime is a 15-year-old boy. He gets bullied by his classmate because they consider him an otaku. His mother is a shoo mangaka and his father a game developer, so he had a different upbringing compared to his classmates. Moreover, the most poplar girl in the school tries to befriend him, and least say that its classmates don't like this situation.
One day gets transported with his entire class to a fantasy world. Here, the king and the high priest tell them that they are heroes selected by their God to save their world by fighting against demons. It's like an RPG game. They get a profession, skills and stats. Of course the most popular guy in the class gets the title of hero while Hajime gets the title of synergists. His classmates make fun of him for his profession and his low stats.
However when they get to practice inside a dungeon, Hajime gets betrayed by one of his classmates and fell down a bridge while fighting a magic beast. After a period of discouragement, he decides that he wants to keep living and go back home to his parents.
He trains and developed new skills while passing floor after floor in the dungeon. While clearing a room, he meets Yue, a vampire who was also betrayed by her family. Hajime frees Yue, and the two becomes comrades and keep clearing the dungeon floors.
It's an intriguing stories, and a wonderful plot. I love how the author describes and portrays the characters. Moreover, the voice of the story and how it is written is different compared to other stories. While other fantasy novel try to take the readers into the story, this novel is written like the author is just telling a story without trying to involve the reader in it. I was a little bit skeptical at the beginning, but the more I read, the more I fell in love with this book!
I'd recommend it to whoever wants to read a good human-get-sent-to-another-world story.

Hero summoned to a new world is given a "weak" common class while all the rest of his classmates are given an overpowered super class. Attacked because of his relationship with the class beauty, Hajime is cast down to the lower levels of a dungeon and is forced to find a way to survive eventually becoming "god" level in his powers by eating the monsters he encounters (even though it will kill him). Finding an ally in another prisoner trapped in the dungeon he seeks to survive so he can return home to our world.
Great, fun easy read. Was looking for the manga but library sent me this instead and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I might need to read more light novels.

I love the anime I love the book. That’s it.
I usually hate watch isekai but this one is different like it actually has plot and likeable characters, not just characters to pity because they ran into the main dude. Hajime is actually a bit relatable to the average person way more than most protags and it’s actually nice to see his character change throughout the story. The book is also funny. It has a bit of questionable sexualisation but It’s like very little.
Shea Haulia is the best character okay bye

I read the sample so I decided to buy the book. Then I spent the whole weekend while forgoing proper sleep and chores reading the entire series. It was the fact that it was in series form and I can never resist a series that made me read the whole thing in one sitting. Fortunately, the story was engrossing enough to hold my interest.
