This book was terrible, but it’s a great exercise in how not to write a book. At part of me wonders how much blame does the editor bear for this disaster. The plot is like the Da Vinci Code and probably inspired by other like minded books. The ending is dragged down by pages of theological debate and blathering and the final end? Completely hokey and stupid. Eye rolling stuff.

The author clearly has a thing for guns. I get more description about guns then I do about the male protagonist who is 38 yo, has short brown hair, and is an FBI agent who coaches softball for kids on weekends. That’s it. I get the female protagonist through a completely fetished haze, about how she’s so beautiful but she doesn’t care or realize it. Gag me please. At least the author didn’t have her admire her own breasts in a mirror. The only other woman of note is a FBI agent who is also gorgeous and is always... ALWAYS called but her full name in the book. The author lists all the people at a FBI meeting. Male agent last name. Male agent last name. Female agent first and last name. Male agent last name. In fact the only people who get mentioned by their last names are the male agents, male cops, and male priests plus one ?bad guy. Everyone else is either first name or an epithet. It’s ridiculous.

So if you want to know how not to write or pace a book, use this. Otherwise don’t bother. It’s stupid.

Quite an interesting read. Fast-paced and a lot of action. Would be nice to have a lot more intrigue in terms of the History.

A good read.

Similar to the Da Vinci Code, but different enough that it didn't bother me. I thought the book was good. One silly thing that bothered me was that the author repeatedly used a few words that could have been replaced by other words to make it less redundant. I wanted to yell out 'Use a thesaurus!'

Overall, I'd recommend this book if you like this genre (crime, religious controversy, with a little bit of a love story thrown in for good measure).

I do enjoy the myths, legends, histories and such surrounding Jesus. This book wasn't as great as "The Da Vinci Code" because it had history but it went more with the other aspect of it. I did love the ending. It was interesting. There was an irksome moment in the book when Tess was surprised at the lake. She should have easily recognized that landscapes change. It was annoying to me. The book was good.

just as i mentioned earlier this is pretty much a straight froward story , that isnt boring but yet keeps you on the storyline.
