I’ve been excited for Kendall and Ryan’s story since I finished The Two of Us. I love the progression of their relationship throughout the book. They went from hating each other but that changed as they got to know each other and as learned new things about themselves, they realized how wrong they were about one another. Emma Wilder is absolutely amazing and I love her delivery of Kendall. Tor Thom is fairly new to me but I really enjoy his narration. If you are looking for a red-hot steamy listen I really recommend this one.

First, I'd like to thank Kennedy Fox for providing an ARC for an honest review!

If you love best friend's brother romances... then make sure you pick this one up too! The Best of Us follows Cami's brother Ryan, and her best friend Kendall in a snowed-in romance.

This story follows a more current timeline where the *panini* has ended but Ryan still deals with some PTSD since he's a doctor who has dealt with everything in the hospital where he works. Having this time where he's stuck in a cabin with his sisters best friend, might not have been his first choice... but I can assure you that changes!

And the steamy scenes....man oh man, Kennedy Fox knows how to keep you blushing with those scenes! Not to mention their banter! If you know me, I am a sucker for some witty banter! I was turning the pages, just devouring their story and waiting to see what would happen next.

Overall I really enjoyed The Best of Us! The development between Ryan and Kendall was amazing, their spicy scenes super hot! While this story revolves around our time of the *panini* I still believe this to be a great escape and for these enemies to become lovers while in isolation!

3.5 stars really.

We definitely had the inkling that this was going to happen from the end of the first book in the series, The Two of Us. Now, even though that first book ended the story AFTER all this crazy pandemic we’re dealing with, I don’t know I guess maybe I still thought we’d get a bit of that in this book? However what we do get about the pandemic is that Ryan was a doctor during all of it and is dealing with the aftermath of having been through all of that while being in the field. We got to see how it was going for him a little in the last book since that was his sister Cami.

For this one Ryan gets stuck in the same cabin from the first book but with his sister Cami’s best friend, Kendall. Kendall has always seemed like a spoiled brat to Ryan, but that’s partly because he didn’t take the time to get to know her in the past. Stuck in the cabin with no power and then even when that comes back on, the roads are blocked by snow, they have lots of time to get to know each other. Kendall takes the time to also try to break through the wall that Ryan keeps up. His relationships in the past haven’t worked because of how much he works, or is it that he worked so much because those relationships didn’t mean enough to him? That they weren’t THE ONE.

While the story wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t as swept into the story as much as I usually am with this author duo’s books. I felt there was a lot of what I know I’m guilty of in my own writing, a lot of telling instead of showing. A lot of being in their heads. And while I love when the authors keep the sex there all through the book instead of one or two scenes and then the rest are fade away, there were times the sex in this book just seemed a little over the top or out of character or just didn’t fit for me. Words they said, things they did, just seemed a little off. And then the ending, it seemed to keep going and keep going, and maybe a few more epilogue type chapters than I really needed. However, that final one was needed to set up the next book.

Even with my problems with this story, I’m still excited for the next book in the series, and look forward to reading about Kendall’s sister and her romance.

Oh yeah, the names of the characters messed with me a bit too, because there is a romance author named Kendall Ryan.

The Best of Us hooked me from the very beginning. Nothing like a major blizzard to bring two people who can’t stand to be around each other together.

Ryan and Kendall grew up around each other. Ryan is Kendall’s best friends brother. Ryan is a hardworking ER doctor who gets roped into helping Kendall decorating his families cabin for his baby sisters honeymoon. What neither of them expect is the massive blizzard that strands them at the cabin.

I couldn’t get enough of the banter, the tension and the chemistry between Ryan and Kendall. From the very beginning they are at each other, but you could feel the underlying tension and both of them trying to deny their chemistry. Kendall wormed her way into Ryan’s life whether he wanted her there or not. There were plenty of steamy moments, but also plenty of moments that will make you swoon and laugh.

The Best of Us is a MUST READ romance that has all the makings of a Hallmark movie.

Another hit in the Love in Isolation series! This time around we get a enemies to lovers book featuring Kendall Montgomery and Ryan St. James's story both who connected via best friends and siblings. It gives you the never judge a person by its cover vibe that will have you opening your eyes to someone you least expected to be and have known your whole life.

Being snowed in at a small town cabin where at one point having no power will having you finding ways to survive and learn to understand and appreciate one another. Reveals will come in fruition; however, once it is safe to return home the feels of being just a temporary fling is a question that that will test their feelings on what all has happened at the cabin.

Cozy up and get ready to the warmth this read has to offer.
