Full disclosure, I know this author personally. That said, the writer took me to another time and POV that surprised me, and made me reconsider my own youth and experiences with dating situations, and how these power dynamic relationships are damaging, but so easy to fall into. It’s timely and timeless. I have and will continue to recommend.

A heartbreaking but also hopeful and beautiful story of a vulnerable teen taken advantage of by an older man, in this case her friend’s brother. It’s always exciting to read about families that aren’t nuclear families, as Matt is Naomi’s guardian and Naomi has a complicated relationship with her biological father. My heart broke for Naomi many times and I finished the book in one day just to see if she’d finally find happiness.

Although the book deals with serious topics and lots of heartache, readers will care about Naomi and her guardian Matt, and Naomi’s search to discover her place in the world and what makes her happy. Readers will definitely fall through the looking glass with this story.

***I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A very accurate depiction of a teenage girl getting into the wrong dynamic with an older man. The deception and dynamic going on between the two of them, between Naomi and her friends and family is so accurately based on real emotions that happen during such an event.

It was at times a bit difficult for me to read as it hit me right in the heart. Nevertheless, this book reads like you're watching a movie and it could easily be adapted into one.

Thank you to the author for giving me to opportunity to read this book as an ARC reader, my opinions are my own and my review is voluntarily.

*DISCLAIMER* I RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS AN ARC// TW: GROOMING
I loved this book too much! It brought so much awareness to how the real world is and what the reality it is being a teenage girl with access to the world. I felt like the story captured the before during and after of how it is to be in this situation and I guess you could say the best case scenario (in terms of the ending/after). Wren knew what he was doing and still continued to manipulate Naomi. Every man in the world who put themselves in this situation knows exactly what they’re doing. I did love that the author showed that men can go through this as well it’s just sad that it’s not talked about it more often. I did love this book so I will say the only reason I rated it 4⭐️ is because the story did feel a little slow at times & it did take me a little longer to read because it brought up a lot of emotion in me. With that being said I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Thank you to the author for sending me this book and making such a beautiful story that brings so much awareness that everyone should be aware of ❤️
