This is the most gore filled graphic novel I've read. It wasn't bad, but I had difficulty getting past faces being cut off with knives and brain splatter every other page. Cut out half the gore and half the unnecessary chatter and it would easily be 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this comic. It was different than a lot of other things I've read but for some reason it pulled me in. I was not expecting that guy at the end to be so screwed up haha and I'm so shocked at the way he handled things. I'm really interested in picking up the second book in this series. I can definitely see why it's a classic and I now know why people love both the comic and the TV show.

It's been long since I approached Preacher and I can say without doubt I'm glad I did.
Every series involving a character that can call god an asshole will always appeal to me; by the sole fact that I instantly think it doesn't take itself too seriously and allows for the entertainment to be the key point in its development.
The characters are fun and far from perfect; the violence is non-stop and some of the jokes handled in the book are just plain out hilarious.
I don't recommend it to anyone with too many sensibilities but if you are looking for something a bit toned-up from your usual superhero softies; definitely preacher is the thing to go.

This was way too weird for me, also way more religious then I thought it was going to be and a lot more violent. Great art and story though just wasn’t my cup of tea.

So I obviously picked this up after watching the TV series, and I'm glad I did. Tulip is not quite as badass here or Cassidy as cute, but the story's got a flow to it. Let's see where it goes.

I don't know what it is about mature, violent late 90s comics but they seem to grab me and finds a place in my heart almost immediately. Preacher is one of those comics that most people would assume I wouldn't like - it's violent, it has some body horror, and it has foul language, among other things. But I honestly didn't care about any of that - the story had me hooked almost immediately. I loved Jesse, I was invested in his relationship with Tulip (what a ridiculous name), and Cassidy made me crack up. Then there's the art, which really added to the story and I can't wait to draw some of it.
I can't recommend this one to most people. But man, I sure enjoyed the ride.
