Want to give Shakespeare a try but are concerned that you just won’t understand the poetic language? This “Shakespeare Made Easy” worked for me. The left page is Shakespeare’s original text while the right page is the modern English version of the same text. I chose to read the entire modern English version first to understand the story and started over with Shakespeare’s text. As for the story of Julius Caesar, eh; it’s alright. I’m sure it’s better as a play and is currently in performance at The American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia. ROAD TRIP!

I don't usually take the time to write a review for the books I read, I feel the stars speak for themselves. However, I have to point something out when it comes to this play, Brutus is NOT the manipulative character. I actually felt a little bad for him. He was manipulated by Cassius, especially since Cassius forged all those citizen notes and threw them through Brutus' window. Brutus, I believe, genuinely thought he was doing what was best for his people and his country. I'm not saying Caesar was a bad guy, but he may have been a little "ambitious", and I do believe Brutus was one of the more noble characters in the play.
