Very cute. A bit long (though this authors books do tend to be). I like that the kid had a big role in it.

Major TW: discussions of self harm with pretty heavy details, talks of physical and emotional abuse.

5 stars across the board, this was so, so good and just what I needed. Ellie and Rafa are such great characters and their relationship was fabulous. The length of the book was actually justified for the depth of both characters and the progression needed for both before they could be together. Plus no third act breakup! Talk about the icing on the cake.

I much preferred this one compared to Love Redesigned, the characters were more fleshed out and a lot more likeable, plus stuff actually happened for the sake of character development and not just to get the length longer. The family members were still as great on the Lopez side again and it was lovely seeing them all again and Ellie's family were such a delight.
Nico was so cute and such a likeable kid and actually felt like a child compared to other books I've read (knockemout I'm at looking at you).

As mentioned at the top, this is book has a lot of heavy topics talked about throughout. I feel like a major warning should have been given at the start instead of a QR code but besides that, it's defo one I recommend.

I loved this book so much. I didn’t really know much about it going in. I saw single dad/nanny and that it’s by Lauren Asher and immediately downloaded it.
I wasn’t prepared for the emotion that this book pulled out of me. I was tearing up and full on sobbing while reading but I knew there was going to be a happy ending, no matter how stubborn our MMC Rafa was being.
Ellie has going through a lot and is continually fighting off her demons. There is mention of self harm, it broke my heart. Regardless, she is so sweet, and positive and an amazing nanny to Rafa’s son Nico.
Rafa has his own past that he’s constantly fighting to behind him. Abandonment and food security are fears that are still prevalent even with the millions he has as a successful entrepreneur.
Nico, omg Nico is the cutest 9 year old! He’s a little match maker! But I am so happy that he has such an amazing father and mother figure in his life.

Over all, Love Unwritten is such a good read. If you’re open to read about past trauma including self harm, parental abandonment, deception by childhood friends, food insecurity(lack of food due to poor parental figures), a single dad to an amazing 9 year old who has a farm full of rescued animals, a nanny who has always been in love with said dad, and a happy ending… then definitely read this!
