I did not really know anything about Ruth J. Simmons. I picked this up on a whim, and listened to it in one day (1.9x speed). Dr. Simmons narrates, and I love that. I enjoyed learning about Dr. Simmons upbringing, the hardships she endured, and learning about Texas in the 60s. I wish there was more regarding Dr. Simmons adult life, and found it interesting that she primarily focused on her childhood. I would have loved to hear about being President of Brown University. Nice, quick read though.
