These books aren't great literature by any stretch, but they're ceaselessly entertaining. I tore through all 3 of them in only two weeks--during and after my wedding/honeymoon! This first book covers the time from Darcy arriving in Merryton until he & Bingley return to London.
This was my first real venture into the world of P&P fan-fiction and I thought it was quite enjoyable. I think that Pamela Aidan grasps Darcy's struggle with himself quite well and it's interesting to see Elizabeth through his eyes. Very pleased and looking forward to reading the other two books in this trilogy.

Pride and Prejudice told from Mr. Darcy's perspective, with closely tracked retelling where others are involved. The updated language and active imagination of Pamela Aidan make for a riveting and satisfying expansion of Jane Austen's monumental work.
This book was completely enchanting. I think Aidan did a marvelous job in keeping true to Jane Austen literature, but also adding in new characters that fit the story line so well. She provides a wonderful insight to Darcy's side of "Pride and Prejudice" and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of reading.
Exactly what I need when I'm stressed and my brain can't handle dense plot. I always feel like I come away from this book as having learned something new and enjoy it more and more each read.
A must-read for anyone obsessed with Pride & Prejudice. I've read a bunch of the spin-offs and almost all of them were barely readable except for this. Aidan mimics Austen's writing style reasonably well, and it's interesting to read "Darcy's" spin on the whole story.
I really enjoyed this book. There were a few things Aidan wrote that I didn't really agree with, but different perspectives on Mr. Darcy are interesting and it was still a really entertaining read. I'll definitely read the other two in this series.

Part 1 but I didn't know
Ugh! I didn't know it ended in the middle. It was well written and gave the Darcy perspective, but I expected some twists rather than the same story from a different viewpoint.
