There's more sex in this YA novel than in most Harlequin romances. But the underlying story/mystery is solid.

(2nd time reading) dnf
welp-
do not read my review of the 2nd book. I was hyped for this one, but it was so boring. I couldnt really get into it. Made me quit a lot of times, so eventually, i did.

It's physically painful for me to give a book Elle Kennedy contributed to less than 4 or 5 stars, but this book was an absolute snoozefest. The end "twist" was completely predictable and nothing of substance happened between the first few chapters and the last few. Too much moping, filler, and unnecessary drama that didn't lead anywhere.
*sigh*
I received an eARC of this book through the publisher in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Well, I finished! :)
For me, each book in this series started well and ended well. It was the middle that I struggled with in each book.
I feel like it would have been a better story without all the unnecessary drama, but then again, it’s a very highly rated series.
Regardless, I don’t regret reading this series, but I probably won’t continue. I’m happy that this story is complete and I am happy to move on to something else.

this is like meh-ish popcorn. you turn on the movie and 30 minutes later, there's no popcorn left. It wasn't great and you can't remember eating it but you think it tasted okay.

Just wanted to say this book series were such an escape for me during a difficult mental health time. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This book just got a bit too angsty/nerve-wracking for me with Reed imminently facing jail. The twist with Ella’s dad though had my head spinning!
