I enjoyed this Isekai LitRPG with Vampires, but it was a bit thin at times.

The MC is funny - lots of Dad Jokes - but the two halves of the story don't fit together as well as I would want and feel a bit grafted together. Part 1 is a Father-Son Isekai Adventure. Part 2 is Saving the World with Dark Magic and Sociopathy. I guess it's because his family is elsewhere and so he becomes darker? Still, a fun read with an engaging LitRPG system.

Quick but great

This story was a lot of fun. It wasn't a deep dive into anything but a quick romp as a vampire with a love of family and loot. Ben's dialogue writing is some of the best, and it shines here.

Peak of light reading. Exceptional lore and technical world building but lacking in any in depth elaboration and description. Feels like it's rush building to something greater, more expansive, some sense of 'finale' only to leave you tripping over yourself at the finish line of a dead sprint.

Ultimately just light entertainment to enjoy some pun-filled banter and a lot of playful back and forth.

Good, but not for me.

Most people will enjoy this book, but I didn't. The book is MC heavy and almost all memorable scenes come from his morbid or dry humor. Other than that, Angelica, one of the side characters has the most characterization. The rest are rather shallow and flat.

The story has more holes than your least favorite city road. That said, if approached knowing the book doesn't take itself seriously and that it's a light and casual read, you should enjoy it.

Heavily light novel/anime inspired with an Isekaid OP MC. Side characters are flat. Nothing is remotely realistic, and the MC comes out looking like a genius even in mundane situations. Not a lot of stat or skill dumps, but several areas with walls of text that tell rather than show the world.

I do believe many people will find the book to be enjoyable, but I also caution readers who prefer heavier and more serious stories with depth and hints of realism. Minor issues with typos or missing words, but not enough to break immersion and likely a quick fix for the publisher.
